Seeing as how 95% of (giggle) all the other "reviewers" just HATE Ian Hunter's "Overnight Angels" album/cd/tape, whatever, which - to my ears, is the very BEST thing IH ever did without Mick Ronson, God rest /5(2). Disc 1 is a powerful set recorded in February in Stockholm, and is a good representation of Island-era Mott The Hoople live, despite it being a somewhat subdued audience. Disc 2 is the famous performance at the Tower Theatre, Philadelphia PA in November A Tale of Two Cities (Live) (2-CD) by Mott The Hoople - CD () for $ from seygetbatileansugaraddiporlita.co Pop / Rock - Order by Phone Brand: Recall Records Uk.
All material is previously released. If you missed out on them individually, be sure not to miss this set! Due to become a rarity in its own right, this box set is a limited edition release with only 2, copies being produced. According to the label, the CD is housed "in a luxurious slipcase - 8 pages booklet - picture disc".
But the picture disc is nice It was released by Weton Exclusive in their 'Music Sessions' series. Again, this is just CD1 from the Black Box issue! This is the best introduction to Ian and Mott available today, and it even has three unreleased IH tracks! It has a fine mix of Mott The Hoople material and solo efforts by family members, including many previously unreleased tracks!

I told my mom that for Christmas, i would like Mott the Hoople Live to pick as my present, so she went out and bought it 2 weeks before Christmas, wrapped it and put it underneath the tree, along with the other family gifts.
One day when my parents went out on a grocery run, i got the bright idea one day, to cut open a side on the wrapping, take the album out, play it, then put it back in the wrapping and scotch tape the side back up before they got home. I got away with this 3 times before my mom Sucker - Mott The Hoople - A Tale Of Two Cities (CD seen what i had done.
She was furious and hid my present in a very good hiding spot till the actual day of Christmas came. What memories!

Also the sound was rather muddy. I now have the 2cd version which rectifies the missing parts and the sound seems to be much improved. I shall keep listening as I've only received it in the mail in the last few weeks. Kingsley FatsDec 23, Location: Winchester, UK. I have a hunch that Ian Hunter's departure from Mott the Hoople was, perhaps subconsciously, triggered more than anything else by his own sense that this phase of his career was over.
One of the Sucker - Mott The Hoople - A Tale Of Two Cities (CD things is that Saturday Gigs, the band's last single, sounds so much like a valediction. The song indulges what is perhaps Hunter's central theme throughout his work - that life is a grey business to which rock 'n' roll and Mott the Hoople in particular provides some temporary relief.
As Mott the Hoople's farewell though, it is perfect. Listening to it now, it is hard to believe that it was ever intended otherwise. Sixty-nine, cheapo wine, Have a good time, What your sign? John FellDec 24, There are a ton of these, from Island's Rock 'n'' Roll Queen greatest hits - a not unreasonable attempt to cash in on the band's new-found popularity after it left the label - to the 3-CD Anthology: The Anthology is an excellent compilation - it's mostly rarities though some of it has been made redundant by other releases.
The opening track is a fragment of a Like a Rolling Stone cover which you can only find here.
