I've just been spending some time listening to some samples online and the playing on the Art Blakey records is really similar to what I have on my tape.
I found a Blakey album called Indestructible that looks like the cover of the album I think was around when I got this tape I remember it being red. However, the samples are too short to determine if it IS the same as my tape. The drumming sounds so similar, but there aren't any solos in the 30 second samples.
